Today has been a very long, very hard, and very strange day. To be perfectly honest I haven’t really figured it out yet. Maybe there’s nothing to figure out and I’m just overthinking it. Either way, it will hopefully make more sense in the morning.

Candlelight flickers

Through the window

And beckons the weary traveler

Ever nearer

A thief

Slinking through the night

Steals away the light

And drifts away

But then a spark

From a neighbor’s flame

Brings the light back to life again

Stronger than before

Gently, gently

The flame is nurtured

And sparks rain down

Setting other lights to flame

There is hope in all of us, the potential for great kindness and generosity. To spread our light, our hopes and dreams, to embrace all of those around us, even those we don’t really know. We make a difference. Every kind word and gesture, every snide remark and every time we turn away, has the potential to transform a life.

I’m joining the Bloggers for Peace movement tonight. Today was one of those days that made it feel right. Here’s the link to join up if you’re interested: http://everydaygurus.com/2012/12/20/we-can-make-a-difference-right-here-right-now/. Goodnight everyone, may your lives be blessed and you light shine strongly in the dark.
